I love I Love Lucy! A great language moment occurs in the episode where the Ricardos and Mertzes arrive in Paris. Lucy is arrested for unknowingly passing counterfeit money. In order to communicate with the French magistrate, she spoke in English to Ricky, who translated in Spanish to a man who knew Spanish and German. That man translated in German to a gendarme who knew German and French. And the gendarme translated in French to the magistrate who knew only French. It helps to be multilingual!
That sounds like a great episode, Susan, I'll have to look it up. You're right, knowing languages can be very handy! 😀
