Ursprache

A parent language, especially one reconstructed from the evidence of later languages.

That was the winning word at the Scripps National Spelling Bee, and I got it! It seemed pretty easy (ur=primitive, sprache=speech), but then I have a 20 year head start on the girl who won. The second to last word was even easier: kundalini. Any spelling bee champs out there?

Yep, I got the last tow words as well, and yes, they did seem too easy. πŸ™‚

What bothers me is that most of those words I've never heard of, and even the ones I do know (tutoyer, weltschmerz) aren't English!
