Legally Proud

I just had to give a shout out to all the LGBTQ people out in the Canuck blogosphere. Congratulations on finally having your rights as Canadian citizens recognized in law! Bill C-38 was conveniently passed just days before the local pride parade. Now that is going to be some party! Woohoo!!!

Another reason for us Yanks to look longingly north of the border…

I have some friends already planning on getting married there next year. Yeah Canada! Now if we could only get our government in the US to follow suit.

I think it'll be a cold day in Texas before the US legalizes same-sex marriage! But you never know, as things go down the tubes in Iraq (and thereabouts) there may be a change of leadership in '08 (assuming there's a fair vote). Come on Clinton/Obama!

I've picked out my house in Vancouver. i can't wait for this country to get a clue and come about. I'll be too old and too demented to care by then. It occurred to me that it's a good thing there's lots of rain in Vancouver or EVERYONE would want to move there. Not that I believe the stories of rain mind you. Our three days in Vancouver June 21-23 were gorgeous. AND by the way, as we sailed down the coast from Alaska, we were serenaded by a solo trumpeter (all on his own) with the Canadian Anthem from the shore. All onboard the Holland America were enthusiastically impressed with the welcome!

Oh, believe the stories about the rain! But as we say, at least you don't have to shovel it.

What do you think?
